Suspected Bank Robber Nabbed in Seven Corners

Officers from the Mason station Neighborhood Patrol Unit arrested a man moments after he apparently robbed an employee working at the BB&T Bank at 6120A Arlington Blvd. in the Seven Corners area on Thursday, Sept. 8.

Montrell Richardson, 33, of 8523 Canterbury Drive in Annandale, entered the bank just before 10:30 a.m. and allegedly demanded money from a teller, a 22-year-old woman. She complied and as the suspect exited the bank, officers engaged him. He attempted to flee but officers quickly apprehended him. Richardson was transported to the adult detention center and charged with robbery. The victim was not injured.

Robbery detectives continue to investigate to determine if Richardson is connected to any other incidents.
