Keep Emergency Routes Open, Regional Officials Urge

Emergency routes for public safety and utility vehicles have been identified by Fairfax County officials, who strongly urged the public to stay off of them during the storm. The routes include 7, 29, 50 and 66 in and around Falls Church, along with Annandale Rd. and Gallows Rd. Over 20,000 without power in NorthernVirginia as of 9 p.m., and 868,849 statewide. A tornado has touched down in Lewes, Delaware, damaging a dozen homes.
