S. Maple in Falls Church Reopened After Wires Downed in Early A.M.

The 200 block of S. Maple Ave. in Falls Church was closed to traffic in both directions early this morning, the result of an oversized truck accidentally pulling down utility lines draped over the street.

The accident occurred about 6:30 a.m., according to City officials, and the street was closed to traffic until 9 a.m. while crews from Dominion Power and cable companies arrived on the scene to repair the damage. The electric meter at 220 Gibson St. was also damaged in the accident.
