F.C. Cable Channel on Cox Going Digital

Cox Cable, one of three providers of cable television services in the City of Falls Church, donated $50,000 for capital technology equipment to the Falls Church Cable Television channel, which airs Falls Church City Council, School Board and Planning Commision meetings as well as local programming. In exchange for the gift, Cox won approval from the F.C. Council Monday to move its Falls Church Cable signal from Channel 12, where it currently is, to Channel 11.

The move is to accommodate Cox’s shift of the channel from its current analog to a new digital format. The transition is slated to occur in early September, and the City will undertake a information campaign in the meantime to alert viewers. Falls Church Cable TV is also aired on the RCN cable system on Channel 2, and the Verizon FIOS system on Channel 35.
