Falls Church Equestrian Signs With Gamecocks

Falls Church native Adele Norton has signed a letter of intent to join the South Carolina equestrian coach Boo Major and the Gamecocks for the 2011-2012 season. Norton will be competing with South Carolina’s Hunt Seat squad.

“Adele will be a great addition to our team. She has proven herself in the junior hunter ranks and is a rising star in the equitation as well,” Major said. “We are excited to add another equestrian from Virginia.”

Norton trains with Pam Baker, a relationship that has proven successful as she has a championship-filled resume.

Norton is a senior at St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes School in Alexandria, and a member the French Honors Society, a Normandy Scholar, and a two-time winner of the St. Stephen’s and St. Agnes Poetry Competition.

Born June 2, 1993 to parents Robert and Rita Norton, Adele Norton has one sister, Isabella. Norton considered the College of William & Mary, Georgia, Northeastern, and Villanova before signing with South Carolina. While at South Carolina, Norton will major in Journalism in the University of South Carolina’s College of Mass Communications and Information Studies.
