The George Mason High School boys and girls track teams competed against Madison County High School on Wednesday, April 4.The girls won their meet, but the boys ended up losing.
“All the kids did an awesome job,” Mason coach Kristin White said. “They have been training hard and it paid off tremendously at yesterday’s meet.”
Julia Estrada won 3200 meters. Katie Breen won the 200 meters, 300 meters hurdles, and 100 meters hurdles. Claire Constance was placed first on 800 meters, and Amanda Sikirica took the first place on 400 meters. The 100 meters and long jump winner was Najah Lawal.
For the boys, Noel Obusan placed first on long jump. Chas Bowling won the 110 meters hurdles and 300 meters hurdles. Summer Askin won the discus. Ben Mothershead, Jeremy M. Brown, Vincent Le, and Blake Hauter were the winners of the 4X400 relay.
Both teams take on Clark County High School on Wednesday, April 13 at home.
