F.C. Author to Speak at Arlington Bookstore

John Calhoun, a Falls Church resident and lifelong advocate for America’s youth and their families, will appear at One More Page Books on Friday, April 15, at 7 p.m. to read from his new book of poems, “Through the Hour Glass: Poems of Life and Love.”

John Calhoun, a Falls Church resident and lifelong advocate for America’s youth and their families, will appear at One More Page Books on Friday, April 15, at 7 p.m. to read from his new book of poems, “Through the Hour Glass: Poems of Life and Love.”

This collection spans over four decades, from when Calhoun first met his wife, through parenthood, and now grand-parenthood.

Formerly the founding president and CEO of the National Crime Prevention Council, Calhoun has dedicated his life to improving the lot of children and families and their communities.

Currently, he manages the California City Gang Prevention Network for the National League of Cities Institute for Youth, Education and Families. His earlier book, “Hope Matters: The Untold Story of How Faith Works In America,” chronicles his two-year cross-country quest to discover how faith motivates ordinary Americans to accomplish extraordinary things.
