8 F.C. City Schools Teachers Nominated for Teacher of the Year

Eight veteran Falls Church City Public Schools educators have been nominated to receive this year’s Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award. The annual award is bestowed upon one teacher from each Washington D.C. metropolitan school district by the Washington Post Company Education Foundation.

Eight veteran Falls Church City Public Schools educators have been nominated to receive this year’s Agnes Meyer Outstanding Teacher Award. The annual award is bestowed upon one teacher from each Washington D.C. metropolitan school district by the Washington Post Company Education Foundation.

This year’s nominees from the Falls Church City Public Schools are Kim Cherry, special education teacher at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School; Rory Dippold, seventh-grade teacher at Mary Ellen Henderson Middle School; Marie Harbison, music teacher at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School; Jessica Naftzinger, science teacher at George Mason High School; Peggy Payne, kindergarten teacher at Mount Daniel Elementary School; Suzanne Planas, Spanish teacher at George Mason High School; Juls Rathje, art teacher at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School; and Jamie Scharff, social studies teacher at George Mason High School.
