F.C. Mulls Reorganization at City Hall

In an attempt at both money savings and efficiency, City Manager Wyatt Shields informed the F.C. City Council Tuesday that he’s considering adopting the recommendations of consultant Susan Robinson for a management restructuring at City Hall. The change would eliminate a middleman department head system and put Shields in more direct oversight of a number of City departments.

It would revert the system back to the way it was before then-City Manager Hector Lopez reorganized it in the late 1990s, and through attrition it would save the City over $300,000, Shields said. He also noted that the City has experienced an 11 percent reduction in its workforce in the last two years due to budget cuts.
