zeroFriday, Feb. 18th was the 100th day of school at Beech Tree Elementary School in Falls Church. Zero the Hero made his appearance honoring the place that zero holds in our number system. Zero keeps all the other numbers in their places. The children read poems about 100, counted to 100 in many different ways and made collections of 100 items. Zero the Hero was played by Donald Reinecker, Title I Math Resource Teacher. He gave 100-day pencils to all Beech Tree students. (Photo: Courtesy Kelly Dorrity)
