City of Falls Church, VA Crime Report for Jan 4 – 10, 2011

Smoking in a Non-Designated Area, 6763 Wilson Blvd # 12B (Café de Paris), On Jan 4, 11:38 AM, a male, 50, of Manassas, was observed by an officer smoking tobacco products in the restaurant. He was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area.

Driving Without a Valid License, 100 blk E Annandale Rd, On Jan 4, 4:23PM, a male, 47, of Annandale was stopped by an officer for a motor vehicle violation. He was not licensed at the time of the traffic stop and was arrested for Driving without a Valid License.

Larceny from Building, 300 blk Sycamore St, On Jan 5, the victim reported that unknown suspect(s) stole an IPod and $150 cash from the victim’s residence between 10PM Jan 1 and 6PM on Jan 2.

Trespassing and Drunk in Public, 6757 Wilson Blvd (Eden Center), On Jan 5, 7:32PM, a male, 59, of Annandale, was observed by an officer appearing intoxicated at the Eden Center. The man was also banned previously from entering the premises of the Eden Center.  He was arrested for two charges of Trespassing and Drunk in Public.

Reckless Driving, 600 blk Roosevelt Blvd, On Jan 6, 12:23PM, a male, 23, of Silver Spring, MD, was observed traveling in excess of 20 miles an hour over the speed limit. 

Possession of False ID and Fraudulent Use of a Driver’s License to Purchase Alcohol, 201 S Washington St (7-Eleven), On Jan 6, 11:12PM, a female, 18, of Falls Church, presented a false Maine driver’s license to the business to purchase Hurricane bottles. She was arrested for Possession of a False Driver’s License and Fraudulent Use of a Driver’s License to Purchase Alcohol.

Illegal Sale of Alcoholic Beverage Without a License, 1053B W Broad St (Colors of America), On Jan 7, 12:39AM, an officer observed the restaurant, Colors of America, serving Heinken beer to customers without an ABC license. The owner, a male, 36, of Arlington, was arrested for Selling Alcoholic Beverages Without a License.

Larceny from Vehicle, 400 blk Rollins St, On Jan 7, the victim reported a GPS device was stolen from vehicle between 6PM on Jan 6 and 11AM on Jan 7. There was no evidence of forced entry.

Reckless Driving, 400 blk E Broad St, On Jan 7, 8:11AM, an officer observed a male, 48, of Dunn Loring, driving in excess of 20 miles an hour over the speed limit by radar. 

Larceny from Building, 402 W Broad St (Vantage Fitness), On Jan 7, 7:50PM, the victim reported his wallet with credit cards stolen from an unsecured locker sometime between 5PM and 6:50PM.

Larceny of Bicycle, 1230 W Broad St (Giant), On Jan 7, 10:14PM, the victim reported his unsecured bicycle stolen between 5PM and 10PM.

Smoking in a Non-Designated Area and Permitting Smoking Where Prohibited, 6795 Wilson Blvd # 52 (Café Dang), On Jan 8, 1:50 PM, an officer observed a male, 52, of Germantown, MD, smoking tobacco products in the restaurant.He was arrested for Smoking in a Non-Designated Area. The owner of the restaurant, a male, 42, of Annandale, acknowledged patrons were smoking in the restaurant. He was arrested for Permitting Smoking Where Prohibited.

Driving While Suspended, 1000 blk S Washington St, On Jan 8, 3:52 PM, a male, 30, of Woodbridge, was stopped by an officer for a motor vehicle violation. His license to operate a motor vehicle was suspended at the time of the stop. 

Driving Without a License, 800 blk W Broad St, On Jan 8, 7:06PM, a male, 65, of Alexandria, was stopped by an officer for a motor vehicle violation. He was not licensed at the time of the stop. 

Driving While Suspended, 1100 blk W Broad St, On Jan 8, 9:06PM, a male, 39, of Falls Church, was stopped by an officer for a motor vehicle violation.His license to operate a motor vehicle was suspended at the time of the stop. 

Narcotics Violation, Driving Under the Influence, Refusal to Submit to a Breath or Blood Test, 700 blk Jackson St, On Jan 9, 2:39AM, a male, 25, of Falls Church was stopped by an officer for a motor vehicle violation. During the traffic stop, the officer observed a bag of marijuana present in the vehicle.The suspect was arrested for Possession of Marijuana, Driving Under the Influence, and Refusal to Submit to a Breath or Blood Test.

Reckless Driving, 1000 blk E Broad St, On Jan 9, 11:44 AM, a male, 46, of Fairfax, was observed by an officer traveling in excess of 20 miles an hour over the speed limit by radar. 

Larceny from Vehicle, Destruction of Property, 7124 Leesburg Pike (George Mason HS), On Jan 9, 7:30PM, three victims each reported their passenger side windows broken. Sometime between 6:15PM and 7:30PM, cash, credit cards, a laptop computer, a cell phone, a house key, prescription medicine, a pedometer, driver’s licenses were stolen from the vehicles.

Larceny from Vehicle, Destruction of Property, 116B W Broad St (Unity Club), On Jan 9, 8:33PM, the victim reported his passenger side window smashed and reported a laptop computer stolen sometime between 5:15PM and 6:25PM.

Driving While Suspended 500 blk S Washington St, On Jan 10, 10:56AM, a male, of Washington, DC, was stopped was arrested for Driving While Suspended.

Reckless Driving, 700 blk E Broad St, On Jan 10, 9:54PM, a male, 44, of Reston, was observed by an officer traveling in excess of 20 miles an hour over the speed limit by radar. He was arrested for Reckless Driving.

Domestic Assault, 900 blk Ellison St, On Jan 10, 11:24PM, a 17 year-old male was arrested for Assaulting a Family Member.
