Complimentary breakfast will be served to the homeless and other disadvantaged citizens at the Original Pancake House restaurant in Falls Church on Christmas Day.
The restaurant will be open from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 25. Each guest will receive a complimentary breakfast of pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, and coffee and juice.
In addition, toiletries, hand-knitted scarves, and other gifts will be distributed to the guests. About 300 guests are expected.
“There are so many people in our community who don’t have a lot to look forward to at this time of the year. This is one small way we try to remind them that they are not forgotten,” said Jeffrey Bulman, who owns and operates Original Pancake House restaurants in the Washington area with his wife, Jane.
During the weeks before Christmas, the Original Pancake House’s customers donate toiletries, hand knit over 700 scarves, hats and gloves, and donate gently used coats as well as cash to buy more of the same. The Falls Church restaurant is located at 7395 Lee Highway.
