F.C. Police Announce Dec.19 Launch of Photo Red Light Enforcement

A spokesman for the City of Falls Church Police Department announced at the F.C. City Council meeting tonight that the City’s so-called “photo red light” traffic enforcement will officially commence at two intersections on Sunday, Dec. 19.

Video surveillance of two intersections — East Broad at Cherry and West Broad at Annandale Road — will begin to capture photographic evidence of motorists who violate red light signalization at those locations. For the first 30 days following Sunday’s launch, violating motorists will receive only a warning. After that, however, they will receive citations that will include a fine.
