Falls Church’s Boy Scout Troop 895 held ceremonies recently to award the rank of Eagle Scout to two of its members – Will Doty and Matt Baker.

Both seniors at George Mason High School, Doty and Baker started in Scouts as members of the same den in Cub Pack 657. They joined Troop 895 in 2004 and have since been active members, participating in camping, hiking, cycling, skiing, canoeing and other activities, in addition to the troop’s many civic projects. Both went backpacking with fellow Scouts for 10 days in New Mexico in summer 2009.

Baker’s Eagle Court of Honor was on Nov. 21; Doty’s was in late September. Both were held at the Falls Church Presbyterian Church, home base of the 53-year-old troop with a long tradition of service and leadership in the Falls Church community.
