McLean Girls, Falls Church Boys Triumph in Fall Soccer League

Two Falls Church-area soccer teams excelled in the Suburban Friendship League earlier this month.

The McLean 7 U-12 girls team finished in first place for Division 1, going undefeated on the season. Christina Hall scored the game winning goal for McLean, defeating Annandale 2, 1-0. Goalkeeper Erin Murray got the shutout. The girls were coached by Don Thoma with assistance by Brian Weimer and Steven Bloom.

The Falls Church U-14 boys squad finished second out of 44 teams in the SFL’s Fall Tournament last Sunday. In the final, the team played an even match with Prince William 2 until the end before losing 2-1.
