Vienna Arts Society Hosts Free ‘Treasury of Art’

The Vienna Arts Society, led by President Donna Grone of Falls Church, announced this week it will host Treasury of Art from Nov. 19 – 21. Artists from Virginia, Maryland, D.C. and beyond will showcase hundreds of their original artworks.  Muralist William Woodward will jury the show. Visitors will select a Peoples’ Choice winner. A basket filled with original art and “all that jazz” will be raffled to raise funds for the arts in our community. Art teacher Lassie Corbett will demonstrate a variety of painting techniques that Saturday from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Highlights of the weekend include an awards reception on Friday, Nov. 19 from 7 – 9 p.m., featuring the Serenata String Quartet. On Saturday, Nov. 20, “Art, Wine & All That Jazz” will take place from 6 – 9 p.m., with the Lennie Cuje’ Jazz Trio.

Light refreshments will be served both evenings. Admission is free and no reservations needed. Show hours are 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon – 4 pm Sunday. For more information, call 703-319-3971 or visit viennaartssociety.org.
