Creative Cauldron Opens Season with ‘Aesop’s Fables’

Creative Cauldron will open its 2010-2011 season at ArtSpace (410 S. Maple Ave., Falls Church) with a contemporary stage adaptation of “Aesop’s Fables.” Veteran D.C. professional actors, Oran Sandel and Tiffany Freeman, will be featured in the cast, along with two young performers from Creative Cauldron’s Learning Theater program, Hazel Feldstein and Patrick Miller. Jennifer Goldsmith is the contributing writer on the project.

The show will run from Oct. 22 – Nov. 14. Performances are Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 2 and 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors.

In this new adaptation, developed through an improvisational workshop process, six of the original fables will be presented, including “The Ant and The Grasshopper,” “The Tortoise and the Hare,” “The Milkmaid and Her Pail,” “The Boy Who Cried Wolf,”  “Androcles and the Lion” and “The Wind and the Sun. All will be presented through scripted scenes, improvisation and interactive audience segments.
