Jody’s Jam of the Week: Great American Dine Out

I love food. Whether it’s dining out, dining in, take-out, delivery or whatever, I love it. While just about any food-related event in the D.C. area gets me pumped, the ones for a good cause top them all.

So I’m quite excited that starting Sunday is Share Our Strength’s Great American Dine Out Week. Funds raised at participating restaurants during the week will support No Kid Hungry, Share Our Strength’s campaign to end childhood hunger in the United States by 2015. While you’re getting fed well, you’re also helping out those children who are far less fortunate. While there are no City of F.C. restaurants participating (tsk, tsk Little City), Merrifield’s Sweetwater Tavern (and all Great American Restaurants) and Chevy’s are in the mix. Other near-by spots in the Dine Out include Tysons’ Wildfire, Coastal Flats, T.G.I.Friday’s, The Plam, P. F. Chang’s, Corner Bakery, Legal Sea Foods and Daily Grill.

Don’t want to eat out? You can still help by making a donating directly to Share Our Strength at strength.org.

What: Great American Dine Out Week
