Obama Visits Family in Mantua Section Of Fairfax Co. to Discuss Economy

President Barack Obama made a visit to the home of John Nicholas and Nicole Armstrong in the Mantua section of Fairfax County this afternoon, visiting with the couple and their twin daughters on a back porch and then taking questions from a group of about 30 at the site. He was accompanied by U.S. Reps. Gerry Connolly and Jim Moran, and Fairfax County Board Chair Sharon Bulova.

He spoke with Nicholas about their own employment difficulties in the wake of the economic meltdown triggered by the Bush administration that his efforts have been attempting to mitigate. A motorcade from the White House arrived at the site at 1:42 p.m. and departed at 2:59 p.m.
