F.C.’s Jefferson St. Plan Presented At EDA Meeting Tuesday

A conceptual plan for the redevelopment of West Jefferson Street, near the East Falls Church Metro Station in the City of Falls Church, will be presented at the monthly meeting of the City’s Economic Development Authority (EDA) Tuesday, June 1, at 7 p.m. in the Training Room at City Hall. EDA Chair David Tarter made the announcement in a letter inviting interested members of the public today. The plan was developed by the Land Use Planning class at Virginia Tech, which did a similar report on Falls Church’s east end (Syms, Koons area) last fall. The latest plan for the warehouse and service corridor along W. Jefferson includes a new public park, hotel, office and other uses. The students estimate that if implemented the plan could generate more than $1.2 million annual in new City revenues.
