Falls Church City Government Closes at 2 p.m.

The City of Falls Church will be closing City Hall and Mary Riley Styles Library at 2 p.m. today, due to the forecast for up to two feet of snow beginning this morning. The Community Center will remain open until 4 p.m., but that is subject to change.

The afternoon GEORGE bus schedule has been adjusted, with the first bus leaving East Falls Church Metro Station at 1:30 p.m., and the last East Falls Church departure at 4:30 p.m. Conditions may dictate an earlier closing.

On Saturday, all government offices in Falls Church, the library and the community center will be closed. The farmers market has also been canceled for Saturday morning. Sunday closing decisions will be made Sunday morning.

Residents who are need of help with shoveling the upcoming snow can call the Community Center’s “Teen Help List” at 703-248-5077 to request assistance, with the rate of pay for jobs to be worked out between the youth and the person looking for assistance. It is advised that arrangements be made prior to the Community Center’s scheduled closing time of 4 p.m. today.

For closing announcements and more information, visit the City’s Web site at www.fallschurchva.gov.
