Beginning Monday, Nov. 9 in Tysons Corner, the service road of eastbound Route 7 between Pike 7 Plaza and the Koons GM car dealership will begin to close permanently.
Crews are closing portions of the service road one at a time until this entire stretch is eliminated. Business access from Route 7 will remain open, but motorists should expect some alternate entrance routes as this service road is eliminated. Customers for Marshalls, Pier One Imports, and Sports Authority in Tysons Square Shopping Center will continue to enter through the existing access point from Route 7 just west of Wendy’s (Marshalls Drive). The one exception: Koons customers should enter the property via southbound Route 123.
The Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project is gradually eliminating all service roads along Route 7 between Route 123 and the Dulles Toll Road to shift and widen lanes of Route 7, and make room for construction of the western portion of the tunnel, Metro stations and aerial track.
All service roads along this stretch of Route 7 will eventually be eliminated over the next year. Future service road closures will be announced before they occur.
All work is weather permitting and subject to change. For construction-related emergencies, call the Project Hotline at 877-585-6789. For information about the project, visit www.dullesmetro.com or call 703-572-0506.
