In an effort to help the Falls Church City government offset a significant budget shortfall for the current fiscal year, the Falls Church City School Board is considering reducing the current year’s operating budget by $300,000. The city’s budget shortfall is due to a number of factors including declining property values, a shortage of sales tax revenue and errors in state sales tax calculations.
