Oakton Divers Capture Series of Wins, Move to Championships

In anticipation of the upcoming divisional championships, the Oakton Otters dive team traveled to rival Camelot, delivering a 39-27 victory over the host pool in the Oakton Otters’ final Division 5 regular season meet.

Elena Colbert and Julia Powell placed first and third, respectively, in the Freshman Girls category. Grant Newberry took first for the boys.

For the Junior Girls, Everi Osofsky and Stephanie Weir placed second and third, and Andrew Sargent took second for the boys.

In the Intermediate categories, Alyssa Worsham placed first and Nick Newberry made second for the boys.

For the Seniors, Emily Rakosi and George Copeland took first places in their respective dives.

The Oakton team had earned their second win of the season last week, trumping Rolling Hills with a final score of 37-32.

In the Freshman Girls category, Oakton managed to nab all three places , with Elana Colbert in first, Julia Powell in second and Capri Thomas taking third. Grant Newberry finished first in Freshman Boys, and James Crowley took third.

Everi Osofsky and Andrew Sargent took second in their respective Junior Girls and Boys categories.

In Intermediate Girls, AJ Colbert made first place, as did Daniel Nugent for the boys.

In the Senior categories, second place went to both Alyssa Worsham and Nick Newberry.

The divisional tournament  on Sunday, July 26, marks the beginning of the championship season.
