The McLean Little League 11-12 Softball All-Stars have taken the state crown for the third time, with a 6-0 win over Washington County in the Virginia State Championship Wednesday night.

The McLean Little League 11-12 Softball All-Stars have taken the state crown for the third time, with a 6-0 win over Washington County in the Virginia State Championship Wednesday night. McLean had beat Elkton Community 12-0 in the state semifinals. The All-Stars won their first three games in the Virginia State Tournament held in Leesburg, beating Loudoun Girls Little League 23-0, Coeburn Little League 11-0 and Western Branch Little League 13-0. The state final against Division 1 Washington County took place Wednesday night, with results too late for press time. Wednesday’s victory propels McLean once again to compete in the Little League Regionals, with a chance at making it to the World Series later this year in Portland, Ore. (Photo: Natalie Sturm)
