Oakton Dive Team Snags 1st Place in 5 Categories

The Oakton Otters dive team scored their first win of the season, 36-34, against Overlee in an away meet on July 7.

The divers placed first in several categories in the Division 5 competition, including Freshman Girls (Elana Colbert), Freshman Boys (Grant Newberry), Junior Girls (Everi Osofsky), Intermediate Girls (Alyssa Worsham) and Senior Girls (Emily Rakosi).

Other divers also placed in the top three. Julia Powell earned third place in the Freshman Girls division, as did Devon Thomas in the Junior Girls.

Andrew Sargent placed second in the Junior Boys division, while AJ Colbert followed suit with a second-place finish in the Intermediate Girls, and Daniel Nugent in the Intermediate Boys.

Next, the Otters took on Rolling Hills in a home meet on Tuesday, July 14, with results too late for press time.

The Otters will travel to Camelot next Tuesday, and the divisional dive meet is also approaching on Sunday, July 26.
