Mason High I.B. Artists Display Talents

Sixty George Mason High School students from the International Baccalaureate (IB) program put their hard work on display last week with an end-of-year art show.

The two-day showcase ran from April 22 – 23, and art work fell across a broad spectrum of media – drawing, painting, sculpture, ceramics, photography, mixed media, pastel and three large scale installation projects. Senior Kim Kenny (above center) poses with her hallway photographic installation, “Adulthood/Adolescence.” One of the large scale projects was Taylor Moot’s cloud-like structure (below center) that was hung in the auditorium. Other artists highlighted here included (clockwise from top right): Sam Atkeson, Leidy Baldwin, Nils Westergard (bottom two stencil pieces), Christina Dacanay and Amanda Porcella. Art teacher Marc Robarge coordinated the event along with the student-artists. (Photo: Courtesy Marc Robarge)
