Blue Tulip and Tree Top Toys have both closed their Falls Church retail stores in Idylwood Plaza. Blue Tulip declared Chapter 11 and liquidated the entire chain. Falls Church-based Brotman-Winter-Fried Communication is promoting the annual Sister to Sister Heart Health Fair which will be held from 8am-2pm on Fri, Feb 6 at the Verizon Center. The event includes free screenings, provided by the Sister to Sister Foundation, Shady Grove Adventist Hospital and Washington Adventist Hospital, for cholesterol, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, body mass index and family health history as well as heart health. Café Nessma has opened in the former location of Uncle George’s at 1079 W. Broad Street in Falls Church. The new Lebanese restaurant is owned by Saad Masri and managed by his wife Johara Chouki. Café Nessma offers dine-in service from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Carry out service at the new West End Plaza restaurant will soon be available as well. The Medical Care for Children Partnership has formed the MCCP Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. MCCP hopes to expand the types of health care services offered and the number of children served by increasing opportunities for support.
