Commuters interested in biking to work will be interested in Wheel 2 Work on the W&OD Trail taking place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 20. The free event will be held at the Town of Herndon Square on Elden Street, in front of Old Town Hall off the W&OD Trail. The Herndon Police Department, the Fairfax Department of Transportation, the Herndon Parks and Recreation department and area bike shops will distribute maps, give commuting cyclists the opportunity to learn their quickest and safest route to work and include presentations on riding safely, proper equipment fitting and routing. Foxcraft Design Group is hosting a networking mixer for the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Anthony’s has joined The Original Pancake House as a participant in Restaurants for Recovery benefiting PRS (formerly Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services). In recognition of Mental Illness Awareness Week, eat at Anthony’s in Falls Church on Wednesday, Oct. 8 (all day) and/or at The Original Pancake House on Thursday, Oct. 9 (from 7:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.), and a portion of the profits for the day will go to support PRS’ Adult Education Program. PRS provides supports and services to persons with serious mental illness.
