Coach Ferri Returns to Raider Nation

Facing the resignation of their current football coach Baha Ahmed, JEB Stuart High School has recently hired Roy Ferri to take control of their varsity football program.  Coach Ferri is no stranger to JEB Stuart, having been an assistant coach there from 1983-1998.  In 1998, he became the head football coach at JEB Stuart for four years before leaving to take the head coach position at Centreville High School. After a six-year stint at Centreville, Ferri found himself drawn back to JEB Stuart once the head coach position became available.

“For me, this is the best job in the region. This is my community, this is where I live,” Ferri said. “I know it will be a challenge, but twice before, I have seen the Raider Nation rise from beneath the ashes to make the playoffs. All it takes is a lot of hard work and a little luck.”

The Raiders are coming off of two winless seasons in 2006 and 2007.

Correction

Last week in the Winter Sports Briefs, it was written that J.E.B. Stuart girls varsity basketball players Bianca Cesaratto and Jayme Harris were seniors. This is incorrect. Cesaratto is a sophomore and Harris is a junior.
