South County S.S. — 44

South County Secondary bolted out of the gates and scored early and often at home against Northern Region rival Falls Church, getting their first win of the season to improve to 1-1. The Stallions, as a team, wore down the Jaguar defense with a persistent running attack, finishing with a remarkable 19 first downs, 419 yards and four rushing scores.

Junior wideout Jeremy Jones hooked up with quarterback Yousef Khatib for Falls Church’s only score on the night. However, two interceptions on the part of the Stallions spelled defeat for the Jaguars, who also fumbled twice in the game.

Falls Church looks to rebound this Friday when they travel South Lakes (1-1) at 7:30 p.m. to battle the Seahawks, while South County hopes to continue their staunch running attack at home against Edison, who is also 1-1.

Marshall looks to improve to 3-0 on the season this Friday at district rival Stone Bridge High School at 7:30 p.m., while Fairfax tries to rebound at Washington & Lee High School at the same time.
