Edward Albee’s “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?,” Eisenhower Theatre at the Kennedy Center, through Jan. 28.

Two of my favorite lines in all cinema were uttered by Elizabeth Taylor in the film version of this Albee play that was released too long ago to admit. “What a dump!” was one, said with such resigned emphasis. I’ve had many an opportunity to quote that one directly over the years. The other, toward the end after the couple has pretty well exhausted options for grating on one another, one said, “Yes, tomorrow’s Sunday…all day.”  It will be very interesting to see how Kathleen Turner and Bill Irwin perform these classic antagonists in the stage version through January 28. Directed by Anthony Page, tickets for the production are $25 through $78 and can be ordered on line at www.kennedy-center.org.
