Jody’s Jam of the Week

Comedy Showcase at the Laughing Lizard Lounge, Saturday, December 16

Jody's Jam of the WeekTired of the same old bar scene? The Laughing has the answer. Located at the corner of King St. and S. Payne St. the Laughing Lizard is one of Old Town Alexandria’s best kept secrets. It’s a dive in every sense of the word – but bars with this much character are few and far between. The friendly bartenders are more than eager to serve you up a pint while you shoot pool or toss darts with friends. Downstairs, the Laughing Lizards lives up to its jovial name as plays host to a weekly stand up comedy showcase. This Saturday, the Comedy Lounge will feature some of the area’s hottest up and coming comics. Rory Scovel, Larry Poon, Marshall Henry, and more will do what it takes to make you laugh away the holiday blues. Throw in a pint of Pabst Blue Ribbon…now we’re talking. —MS
