Grammy Foundation Honors Mason’s Mary Jo West

George Mason High School music teacher Mary Jo West (front row, center) was congratulated last Friday by the Grammy Foundation. West was one of 10 finalists for the Grammy’s first-ever Music Educator Award. The national award was established to recognize current educators who have made a significant and lasting contribution to the field of music education and who demonstrate a commitment to the broader cause of maintaining music education in the schools. More than 30,000 music teachers were nominated.
