Gasoline Truck Accident Causes Spill in Falls Church

UPDATE at 2:59: The westbound side of W. Broad Street is Falls Church is now open. It was closed for just over two hours.

A gasoline truck crashed on the 1200 block of W. Broad Street in Falls Church at around 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, resulting in a gasoline spill that is still being cleaned up by the hazmat team of the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department, according to the City of Falls Church.

The crash only involved the gasoline truck and no one was injured in the accident or resulting spill. The westbound side of W. Broad Street was closed at around 12:47 p.m., according to text alert sent out by the City of Falls Church, and is still closed off. The City said in the text alert that there is no threat to public safety.

The closure of the westbound side of W. Broad Street has caused traffic delays and the City suggested that motorists avoid the area if possible. This story will be updated as more details become available.
