AgingUp to Offer 2 Free Classes in F.C. for Seniors

AgingUp will be offering two free classes for seniors at the Falls Church Community Center this winter and spring.

AgingUp is an interfaith organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for seniors in Falls Church and McLean.

“Great American Musicals,” from the Great Courses DVD series, covers the essence of the musical from the minstrel era through the iconic musicals of the 1950s. The class is moderated on video by Professor Bill Messenger of Johns Hopkins University with discussion among participants. The class meets on Thursdays from 10 a.m. – noon, from Feb. 20 – April 10.

For “Tips on Aging Up: Learn from the Pros,” professors from Marymount University will share their expertise on high-priority, practical issues for seniors such as getting the most from medical visits and getting along with adult children. The class meets every Thursday for five sessions starting May 1 from 10 a.m. – noon.

Class sizes are limited. For more information, or to register for classes, visit the Community Center at 223 Little Falls St., Falls Church, or call 703-248-5020.
