City Teachers, Staff Enjoy Welcomes

An array of welcoming events were held last week for Falls Church teachers and staff on the eve of the start of the new school year. The Apple Federal Credit Union Education Foundation sponsored a Welcome Lunch for all new teachers last week. VALIC sponsored a luncheon and Apple Federal Credit Union sponsored a breakfast. New teachers and their mentors got to know one another at lunches donated by Red, Hot and Blue, the Original Pancake House, Chipotle, zpizza, Elevation Burger and Mad Fox.

Mt. Daniel and Thomas Jefferson Elementary staffs enjoyed Welcome Back Breakfasts organized by the PTA, sponsored by Brueggers Bagels, Starbucks in Broaddale and Falls Plaza, Edible Arrangements, Giant and Safeway supermarkets. Henderson Middle School new staff members were treated to lunch too. The PTA arranged Zinga frozen yogurt social and lunch courtesy of Pie-Tanza and Theresa Twiford, Sotheby’s International Realty.
