F.C. Ranks Behind Neighbors In Report on Health Factors

An annual report card on factors contributing to the general heath of citizens, scored for every jurisdiction in the U.S. by the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, has found that while overall, the City of Falls Church is at the upper end of rankings for Virginia, it is noticeably behind its neighbors, who are at the very top of the standings.

While Fairfax County is first, Arlington second, Loudoun third, Alexandria sixth and Fairfax City eighth, Falls Church is only 64th on the list. According to a press statement, “the County Health Rankings confirm the critical role that factors such as education, jobs, income and environment play in how healthy people are and how long they live.” The results can be examined at www.countyhealthrankings.org.
