Mason Girls Lacrosse Tops Freedom High, Advances to District Finals

abbychelseamidfieldIn the pouring rain and chilly temperatures Monday night, the George Mason High School varsity girls lacrosse team topped the Freedom High School Eagles, 13 – 7, in the semi-finals of the Dulles District Tournament and will now play for the championship Friday.

In the pouring rain and chilly temperatures Monday night, the George Mason High School varsity girls lacrosse team topped the Freedom High School Eagles, 13 – 7, in the semi-finals of the Dulles District Tournament and will now play for the championship Friday.

With the win, Mason continues its undefeated season with a 15-0 record.

Mason senior center Gwen Edwards had five goals and two assists, junior defender/midfielder Abby Johansen had three goals and three assists, senior attack Taylor Bottock had two goals and one assist, senior

midfielder Courtney Ready had two goals, and junior midfielder Vanessa Mann had one goal and one assist.

The Mustangs will face Broad Run High School in the Dulles District Final, this Friday at 8 p.m. at Broad Run.
