It’s Labor Day weekend and, like always, there’s not a whole heckuva lot to do. It’s the last weekend before the NFL returns to action, school has yet to start— the only real action is Jerry Lewis’ telethon and that doesn’t get going until Sunday night.
Well, thanks to thingstodo.com, Saturday doesn’t have to be a total waste. Starting at 12 noon, a walking tour on “Gangsters and Con Men - The Bad Olde Days of 19th Century Washington, D.C.” will be taking place downtown. Featuring true stories of pickpockets, con men, “ladies” of ill repute, mobs, murderers and gangs in the District during the 1800’s, the tour will be led by Natalie Zanin, a writer and director, who has been featured in Washingtonian Magazine, The Washington Post, The Washington Times and on the History Channel.
