U.S. Census: Falls Church Population Up 18.8% Print E-mail
Wednesday, February 09 2011 07:03:52 PM

Official U.S. Census population numbers were posted on the Commonwealth of Virginia's political redistricting website last week showing that the City of Falls Church's population grew by 18.8 percent in the last decade to 12,332.

At the last U.S. Census in 2000, the population was recorded at 10,377. The growth countered the trend in the 8th U.S. Congressional District of Virginia, of which the City is a part. Overall in the district, which includes Arlington, Alexandria and portions of eastern Fairfax County, the population is down 3.6 percent from 2000 to 701,010. The total population for Virginia is given as 8,001,025.
