F.C. Volunteer Fire Department Honored by City Council Print E-mail

IMG_3658 Members of the Falls Church Volunteer Fire Department were honored by the Falls Church City Council last week following the presentation of the organization's annual report by Fire Chief Paul Schomburg and President H. Thomas Byron III.

The volunteers have grown in numbers from 29 in 1993 to 65 in 2010, with 43 as operational members serving as firefighters and emergency medical technicians. The membership contributed 21,310 hours of volunteer service in 2010, a 12.2 percent, increase over 2009, responding to 479 incidents. (Photo: News-Press)
