Falls Church roommates Jen Heywood, Sara Steffenauer and Susan Call never planned to have their dining room table turn into a donation collection headquarters, but that's just what happened. These three women decided to get involved with their church's service expo and the generosity of neighbors, friends and family quickly took over. From books to blankets, computer equipment to dog food, and everything in between, these women are collecting and donating it to organizations such as the Jeanie Schmidt Free Clinic, DC Central Kitchen, and the Family Health and Birth Center. The roommates are just a few of the many individuals gathering goods for the service expo being hosted by local women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday, March 12. The service expo is open to women in the public and will take place from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the LDS church building at 2034 Great Falls Street in McLean, Virginia. |
