| Adelaide Clark of Arlington Dies |

On Friday, Feb. 10, longtime Arlington resident Adelaide C. Clark died peacefully after a short illness. She was predeceased by Kimball Clark, her husband of 41 years. Adelaide is survived by her loving daughter, Anne K. Clark, her sisters, Nancy Lee Allen (Howard), Helen Page Harry (Ralph), and numerous nieces and nephews. Adelaide was born in Winchester, daughter of A. Lee and Adelaide Coble. She graduated from Handley High School and Longwood State Teachers College where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She then taught in Winchester and Kansas City, Missouri. After moving to Arlington, she was a homemaker for many years and then worked at Northern Virginia Doctors Hospital. She and her husband were members of St. Peter's Episcopal Church where Adelaide was a member of the Vestry, head of the Altar Guild and active in their annual Christmas Bazaar, among many church activities. She was active in various Arlington civic and social groups, including The Neighbors' Club and the Northern Virginia Alliance League. Funeral services were held Feb. 18 at St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Peter's Memorial Garden Fund or the Animal Welfare League of Arlington, 2650 S. Arlington Mill Drive, Arlington, Virginia 22206. |
