Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations Tour

Ok, I know its St. Patrick’s Day and everyone will be downing Guinness like there’s no tomorrow and that the NCAA Tourney is in full effect and brackets are busting everywhere, but, instead of offering the typical “go drink and spend loads of cash” recommendation I usually dole out here each week, I’m offering up an activity you can enjoy with those who have yet to turn 21. This Saturday the Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations tour comes to DC. Honoring the mouse’s 75th anniversary, 75 uniquely designed 700-pound, 6-foot-tall Mickey statues will be on display, each designed by a different Disney legend, actor, artist or athlete. Some of the designers include Tony Hawk, Ellen Degeneres and James Gandolfini (no word if Mickey is wearing concrete shoes in that version). The tour is running through the end of April, but who wants to be last to see this once in a life time exhibition? Put the games on hold and wish the mouse a “Happy Birthday.”

What: Celebrate Mickey: 75 InspEARations Tour

When: March 19-April 30, 6:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m.

1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW., Washington, DC 20004
