6th Annual D.C. International Wine & Food Festival

After a weekend of soaking up the sun in Fort Lauderdale, there's nothing like coming back to good ol' DC and being welcomed with an onslaught of rain, snow and ice. The only thing keeping me from flying back down the coast this weekend (aside from an empty wallet) is the D.C. International Wine & Food Festival. The "mid-Atlantic's premier wine and food event" will be taking place at the Washington Convention Center this Saturday and Sunday where over 240 international and domestic wineries will offer samples of over 1,700 wines— more than enough to make anyone forget about the temperature outside. And since this is also a food festival, DC's top chefs will be showcasing their culinary skills on stage and offering up samples and recipes. Seminars on wine and tasting will also be offered by some of the world's foremost experts for an added charge.
