Crime Report Ending February 21st
Counterfeiting/Forgery/Uttering, Rite Aid, 157 Hillwood Ave., Feb. 16, 11:36 a.m., police arrested a male, 32, of No Fixed Address, on three counts of forgery, 3 counts of uttering a fraudulent document and 3 counts of possessing false ID's.
Larceny from a Building, Doodle Hoppers 4 Kids, 228 W. Broad St., Feb. 16, 12:08 p.m., a man and woman entered the store and started to look around. The male subject was carrying an infant in an infant carrier and placed the carrier on the counter near the cash register. While the female subject distracted one of the employees the male subject entered the cash register and stole approximately $100.00 in cash and ran out of the store. The manager had come out of the back room to see the male subject reaching over the counter near the cash register and noticed the cash register door open. The couple fled in a 1984/85 Hyundai with Virginia temporary tags.
Larceny from a Building, Direct Jewelry, 101 E. Broad St., Feb. 18, between 10:20 a.m., and 10:42 a.m., a male and female couple entered the store to look at some jewelry. While the female was looking at some rings the male subject reached into the case and stole 30 rings that were in a holder. The couple fled on foot in an unknown direction.
Thrown Missile at an Occupied Dwelling, 1300 blk. S. Washington St., between Feb. 12, 8:00 p.m. and Feb. 18, 8:15 p.m., unknown person(s) shot an unknown object through the front window of a residence which then traveled to an inside dinning room wall. No one was injured in this incident.
Motor Vehicle Theft, P&P Restaurant, 445 S. Washington St., Feb. 18, 11:33 p.m., a patron of the restaurant went out to warm up his 1986 Toyota Pickup truck. He went back inside while it warmed up and upon returning found his vehicle to be missing. Arlington Police recovered the vehicle on Feb. 21 and returned it to its owner.
Larceny, Shoplifting, Syms, 1000 E. Broad St., Feb. 19, 3:58 p.m., police arrested a male, 65, of Falls Church (county), for stealing a pair of socks.
Drug/Narcotic Violation, sidewalk in front of 1051 E. Broad St., Feb. 19, 10:37 p.m., police responded for a male subject lying on the sidewalk in front of Koons Ford. Police arrested a male, 21, of Falls Church (county), for being drunk in public. Incident to arrest, police found a small baggie of green leafy substance in his left sock, which was believed to be Marijuana, and charged him with possession of narcotics.
Drug/Narcotic Violation, Weapon Law Offense, 200 blk. S. Lee St., Feb. 19, 11:19 p.m., three male subjects age 16 and two male subjects age 17 were charged with underage drinking when police were called to the 200 blk. of S. Lee St. for juveniles drinking in the street. One of the 17-year-old males was also charged with carrying a concealed weapon in his pants pocket (knife). All juveniles were released to their parents.
Larceny, Shoplifting, Giant Food, 1230 W. Broad St., Feb. 21, 11:17 a.m., police responded to Giant for a shoplifter in custody. Police arrested a male, 48, of Washington D.C., for stealing over $200.00 worth of steaks.
