Forty-Plus Pre-Valentine's Day Retro Dance Party

Home Night Club, 991 F. St. N.W., Washington, D.C., Saturday, Feb. 12, 7:30 to 11 p.m.

Don't wait until the last minute to do something for Valentine's Day, or you'll get stuck with the usual uncreative options, although florists do count on your business that day to help their annual bottom line. Try surprising the significant other with a visit to this posh nightclub. The music will be deejay-driven best tunes from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and today, the $12 admission includes a free drink, and there will be few annoyingly fit youngsters around to depress you (although you don't have to be 40-plus to get in). By the way, I saw on the news that women are most turned on by the aroma of licorice and men by the aroma of lavender. That's my special tip. And remember, if arousal lasts more than four hours, call your doctor.
