Super Bowl Sunday
Sunday, Feb. 6
Can begin any time you want,
could be over by halftime.
For those of you who hate football, there are five really good movies nominated for Best Picture at the Academy Awards that are all in theatres now, and if you really want to make a statement, there's the very good cross-dressing "Bad Education" on at least one screen in DuPont.
But then, on the other hand, there's Patriot quarterback Tom Brady's movie star good looks, and these days football players know to take their helmets off when on the sidelines so they can pose for many a head shot close up. "I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!" But Brady is no mere matinee idol, he's a mean player and count on him to come through with Super Bowl success once more and another trip to Disneyworld.
As for all the fresh TV commercials rolled out for the Super Bowl, and the halftime extravaganzas, they've become archetypes of our modern cultural norms, so to keep abreast with Madison Avenue, the game is a must-see.
