Crime Report Ending January 31st


  • Larceny, 1300 blk. Ellison St., between Jan. 25, 6:00 p.m. and Jan 26, 4:00 p.m. unknown person(s) removed over $500.00 worth of power tools from a residence that is under construction.
  • Assault, Simple, Top Class Barber Shop, 102 E. Annandale Rd., Jan 27, 1:34 p.m., two male employees got into an altercation over the volume of the radio in the shop.
  • Larceny, Shoplifting, Virginia ABC Store, 167 Hillwood Ave., Jan. 28, between 12:16 p.m. and 12:39 p.m., a male subject placed a bottle of whiskey inside his jacket and left the store without paying.
  • Burglary, Commercial, Attempted, Rite Aid, 157 Hillwood Ave., between Jan. 27, 9:00 p.m. and Jan. 29, 12:59 p.m., unknown person(s) tried to pry the molding around two of the glass doors at the front of the business. Entry was not gained.
  • Destruction of Property, 1300 blk. S. West St., between Jan. 29, 7:30 p.m. and Jan. 30, 10:09 a.m., unknown person(s) broke two side mirrors off of a 1998 Dodge Caravan.
  • Destruction of Property, 300 blk. N. Underwood St., between Jan. 29, 5:00 p.m. and Jan. 30, 11:30 a.m., unknown person(s) broke the passenger side window of a 1991 Mazda in an attempt to remove the stereo from the vehicle.
  • Liquor Law Violation, 7-11, 804 S. Washington St., Jan. 31, 10:05 p.m., an officer observed a 17 year old male enter the store with two male friends and out again 5 minutes later. He was seen taking a bottle of beer out from under his coat and placing it in the trunk of his vehicle. The male was charged with possession of alcohol underage.
